JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship | This scheme is for scientists in the UK who are at an early stage of their career and wish to conduct research in Japan. The scheme, which is funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), provides the opportunity for highly qualified young researchers to conduct cooperative research with leading research groups in universities and other Japanese institutions. The Royal Society is provided with a quota for this scheme by JSPS. The research undertaken must be on a subject within the natural sciences, including: physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, engineering science, agricultural and medical research (non-clinical only). Applications for research in the social sciences should apply through The British Academy. The scheme provides subsistence funding as well as a settling-in allowance, a return air ticket and insurance cover.
